At long last our annual charity sleep out happening Friday 6 November, 2020!
We had COVID restrictions however we can confirm that a distanced, do-it-yourself sleep out is happening again. It’s not winter, yet we’re doing it anyway. Many others are joining in, including the Institute of Architects, Bond and Griffith University Schools of Architecture and a number of architecture practices.
We are raising money for the homelessness charity Second Chance Program (SCP) once again. The demand on shelters from people experiencing homelessness, especially women fleeing violence, has been radically increased since COVID took hold. We’ve all heard about this so here are the details if you want to read more: . This discusses Victoria, though homelessness services here in Queensland tell us the same story.
We need your support and we would love you to please donate here.
All donations go straight to Second Chance, a registered charity. SCP has no overheads, are totally volunteer-run and give money directly to those services that place vulnerable women and their children in safe accommodation.
If you’d like to join the sleep out and generate support from your friends and family, please share this and tell them you’re going to sleep out on your back deck, balcony, garage floor, etc or simply ask them to donate money to this worthy cause!
Last year we raised $47,000.00 which was an amazing result. Let’s see if we can better this result in 2020.
